Perquimans Solar pursues North Carolina approval for 5-MW project

Perquimans Solar LLC applied Aug. 18 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project to be located 0.3 miles southeast of the intersection of Pender Rd and Harvey Point Rd, which is approximately 2.8 miles southeast of the city of Hertford in Perquimans County.

The $14 million facility is projected to come online in June 2017. Electricity generated will be sold to Dominion North Carolina Power under a fifteen-year power purchase agreement. The projected annual sales of the facility are 10,725,000 kWh.
