North Carolina commission approves 4-MW Warbler Holdings solar project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Aug. 10 approved a June 9 application from Warbler Holdings LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 4-MW (ac) solar facility to be located at 631 Plato Lee Road near Shelby in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

The electricity generated will be sold to the Duke Energy Carolinas under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The facility is projected to come on-line as of June 1, 2017. The estimated cost of the facility is $14 million.
