Headwaters Solar seeks okay on 5-MW Scotch Bonnet project in N.C.

Scotch Bonnet Solar LLC applied Aug. 16 to the North Carolina Utilities Commission Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) facility to be located on US Hwy 117 at Burgaw in Pender County, approximately 0.25 miles south the intersection of S. Walker St and US Hwy 117.

Sept. 1, 2017, is the on-line target date for this $7.8 million project. The applicant plans to sell the output to Duke Energy Progress. The projected annual sales are 9,750,000 kilowatt-hours.
