Headwaters Solar pursues okay for 5-MW Fletcher Solar project in N.C.

Fletcher Solar LLC applied Aug. 15 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project located on Jackson Road, Fletcher, North Carolina.

The site is in Henderson County, approximately 100 feet east of the intersection of Jackson Road and Howard Gap Rd. Fletcher Solar will be adjacent to a separate solar farm, Biscuits Solar LLC, which is under separate ownership and under a separate docket.

The projected date for the project to come on-line is Sept. 1, 2017. The applicant plans to sell the output of this $7.8 million facility to Duke Energy Progress
