Headwaters pursues okay for 5-MW Sweet Tea Solar project in North Carolina

The Sweet Tea Solar LLC affiliate of Headwaters Solar applied Aug. 5 to the North Carolina Utilities Commission Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project.

The facility will be located off Beaman Road, New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina, approximately 324 feet north of the intersection of Beaman Road and Old US Hwy 70W.

The project is to come on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017. The applicant plans to sell the output of this $7.8 million project to Duke Energy Carolinas.
