Headwaters pursues North Carolina nod on 5-MW Winters Solar project

The Winters Solar LLC affiliate of Headwaters Solar applied Aug. 10 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project located on Pope Farm Road at Statesville in Iredell County, about 1.1 miles north of the intersection of Pope Farm Road and Island Ford Road.

The $7.8 million facility if projected to come on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017. The applicant plans to sell the output to Duke Energy Carolinas.
