
Georgia Power told the Georgia Public Service Commission in an Aug. 1 update that five solar projects at military bases around the state are making progress, with one completed and four others due for commercial operation by Feb. 28, 2017.
The projects, which have been previously approved by the commission, are:
- Fort Benning, 30 MW (ac), Dec. 31, 2015, actual commercial operation, AMEC is the vendor;
- Fort Gordon, 30 MW (ac), commercial operation target of Sept. 1, PowerSecure is the vendor;
- Fort Stewart, 30 MW (ac), commercial operation target of Oct. 1, PowerSecure is the vendor;
- Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, 30 MW (ac), commercial operation target of Dec. 1, AMEC is the vendor; and
- Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, 31 MW (ac), commercial operation target of Feb. 28, 2017, AMEC is the vendor.
