FLS Energy approved for 5-MW Eastway Solar project in North Carolina

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Aug. 31 approved an April 28 application from Eastway Solar LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity allowing construction of a 4.99-MW (ac) solar facility to be located at 204 Eastway Avenue at Elizabethtown in Bladen County, North Carolina.

The applicant plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress, a unit of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK). Eastway Solar is an affiliate of FLS Energy. The projected date for the facility to come on line is June 28, 2017.
