Delta Solar seeks North Carolina approval for 5-MW project

Delta Solar LLC applied Aug. 24 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project to be located on Pope Farm Road, at Statesville in Iredell County, about one mile north of the intersection of Pope Farm Road and Island Ford Road.

The company noted that a separate solar farm under separate ownership is adjacent to this site. That separate project is called Winters Solar LLC.

The Delta Solar project is due on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017. The applicant plans to sell the output of this $7.8 million facility to Duke Energy Carolinas.
