Cypress Creek’s Ventura Solar wins North Carolina nod on 5-MW project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Aug. 16 approved a June 20 application from the Ventura Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 5-MW (ac) solar facility.

It would be located off Wildwood Circle, east of NC Highway 16, and approximately 0.3 miles north of the intersection of K B Isaac Lane and County Home Road, Taylorsville, Alexander County. The applicant plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Carolinas. The facility is projected to come on-line as of Sept. 1, 2017.
