Alpha Value Solar seeks North Carolina okay for 5-MW project

Alpha Value Solar LLC applied Aug. 1 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project in Perquimans County.

The project site is located south of Hertford, on the north side of U.S Hwy 17, approximately 1.4 miles southwest of intersection of Wynne Fork Road and U.S. Hwy 17 in Perquimans County.

The $11 million facility is projected to come on-line as of Dec. 15, 2017. The project developer plans is to sell to the electricity to Virginia Electric and Power d/b/a Dominion North Carolina Power. The service life of the equipment is expected to be a minimum of 20 years. The projected annual sales are 11,100,000 kilowatt-hours.
