
Innovative Solar 31 LLC, which is developing a 34.2-MW (ac) project in North Carolina, on Aug. 8 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification as an Exempt Wholesale Generator.
Applicant owns and will operate a 34.2-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility in Bladenboro, Bladen County, North Carolina. The facility will interconnect with the Duke Energy Progress-controlled grid. It has an executed power purchase agreement with Duke Energy Progress for all of the facility’s output. The facility is expected to begin generating test energy in December 2016.
Innovative Solar 31 is an indirect subsidiary of: Arowana International Limited, an Australian public company; New Energy Solar, an Australian entity; and Firstar Development LLC.
Innovative Solar 31 on Aug. 8 also filed with FERC for market-based rate authority.
