Strata Solar seeks okay for 5-MW Tinker Farm project in North Carolina

Tinker Farm LLC on July 6 applied to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity authorizing construction of a 5-MW (ac) solar facility to be located in Chatham County.

The project site is located east of Moncure Pittsboro Road (also known as State Road 1012), southeast of the intersection with Bill Thomas Road, and east of the intersection with Charlie Brooks Road, in the Township of Center, Chatham County.

The $14 million facility is projected to come on-line in November 2016. Electricity generated will be sold to Duke Energy Progress under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The projected annual sales are 9,000,000 kWh.
