Headwaters Solar seeks okay for 5-MW Little Mountain project in N.C.

Little Mountain Solar LLC, an affiliate of Headwaters Solar, on July 12 applied at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for a 5-MW (ac) solar project.

The project site would be accessed off of Little Mountain Road, approximately 0.4 miles east of the intersection of Little Mountain Road and Hwy U.S. 21, in Jonesville, Yadkin County, North Carolina.

The projected date for this $7.8 million facility to come on-line is Sept. 1, 2017. The planned power customer is Duke Energy Carolinas.
