Cypress Creek seeks North Carolina okay for 75-MW Homer Solar project

The Homer Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables applied July 5 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 75-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic project.

This generating facility will be located off of Swan Road, east of McKay Hill Road, south of Ingold Road, and approximately 0.4 miles north of the intersection of Grassy Island Road and Homer Andrews Road. The facility will be located in Mt. Gilead in both Richmond and Montgomery counties.

The date the facility is projected to come on-line is June 30, 2018. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress under a power purchase agreement. The projected annual sales of the facility are expected to be approximately 162,750,000 kWh. The expected cost of the proposed facility is approximately $146.5 million.
