The Brick City Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables applied July 27 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project.
The generating facility will be located along Old Wilmington Road, approximately 0.5 miles west of the intersection of Mail Route Road and Lucas Lane in Wallace, Duplin County, North Carolina.
The facility is projected to come on-line as of Oct. 1, 2017. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress under a power purchase agreement. The service life of the project is expected to be about 35 years. The projected annual sales of the facility are expected to be approximately ten million five hundred thousand (10,500,000) kilowatt-hours (kWh).
The expected cost of the proposed facility is approximately $9.45 million.
