120-MW East Pecos Solar project in Texas due for commercial ops in Q4 2016

East Pecos Solar LLC, which is building a 120-MW project in Texas, on July 12 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification as an exempt wholesale generator.

One hundred percent of the ownership interests in East Pecos Solar are held by Southern Renewable Energy Inc. (SRE), which is wholly owned and managed by Southern Power Co. (SPC). SRE and SPC are wholly-owned indirect and direct subsidiaries of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO).

East Pecos Solar is engaged in the business of owning the 120-MW East Pecos Solar Facility and selling electric products from the facility exclusively at wholesale in the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT)-controlled transmission network. The facility is under construction, which commercial operation expected in the fourth quarter of 2016.
