Two FTP Power affiliates file for exempt generator status for California solar projects

Two affiliates of FTP Power LLC with nearly-operational solar projects in California on June 22 filed notices of self-certification as exempt wholesale generators.

  • Antelope DSR 2 LLC owns and will operate a 5 MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility under development in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California. The facility will interconnect with the Southern California Edison system at the Antelope Substation within the California Independent System Operator balancing authority area. The facility has an executed power purchase agreement with the Southern California Public Power Authority for all output. The facility is expected to begin generating test energy in September 2016.
  • Western Antelope Dry Ranch LLC owns and will operate a 10 MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility under development in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California. The facility will interconnect with the Southern California Edison system at the Antelope Substation within the California Independent System Operator balancing authority area. The facility has an executed power purchase agreement with the City of Lancaster d/b/a Lancaster Choice Energy for all of the facility’s output. The project is expected to begin generating test energy in September 2016.

These companies are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Sustainable Power Group LLC, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of FTP Power LLC.
