New York agency seeks comment on Borrego Solar project in Amsterdam

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation is out for comment until June 17 on an application from Borrego Solar Systems Inc. for a water permit on the CPA Solar 1 LLC-Southeasterly System project, located on Rte 67 (Church St), Amsterdam, N.Y.

The company is seeking a Section 401 Clean Water Act Water Quality Certification for this Montgomery County project. The company proposes to construct a solar energy facility on lands located on the north side of NYS Route 67, approximately 1,100 feet east of Widow Susan Road. The facility would consist of ground-mounted solar panels and associated equipment on approximately 10.8 acres of land. The proposed project would permanently impact approximately 0.04 acres of federal wetlands.

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing no later than June 17.
