Headwaters Solar seeks okay for 5-MW Traveller Solar project in North Carolina

Traveller Solar LLC applied June 21 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project to be located at 300 Robert E. Lee Drive, 0.22 miles south of the intersection of Robert E. Lee Drive and Harvey Faulk Road at Sanford in Lee County, North Carolina.

The developer, which is an affiliate of Headwaters Solar, plans to sell all of the project output to Duke Energy Progress. The projected date for commercial operation is Sept. 1, 2017.
