Cypress Creek seeks okay on 75-MW Bay Tree Solar project in North Carolina

The Bay Tree Solar LLC affiliate of Cypress Creek Renewables filed on June 3 at the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 75-MW (ac) project.

The facility will be located north of NC Hwy 41, west of NC Hwy 210, south of Garland Hwy (701), and approximately three miles southeast of the intersection of Bull Street and Garland Hwy. That is in Bladen County, North Carolina.

The facility is projected to come on-line as of June 30, 2018. The facility owner plans to sell the electricity to Duke Energy Progress under a power purchase agreement. The service life of the project is expected to be approximately 35 years. The projected annual sales of the facility are expected to be approximately 157,500,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh).

The expected cost of the proposed facility is about $141.75 million.
