Strata Solar seeks North Carolina nod on 5-MW Selwyn Farm project

The Selwyn Farm LLC affiliate of Strata Solar LLC on May 26 applied to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity authorizing construction of a 5-MW (ac) solar facility to be located in Anson County.

The project site is located on the east side of Ninth Street, (also known as State Road 1703), north of the railroad tracks, and south of the intersection with Horseback Lane, in Lilesville, Anson County.

The facility is projected to come online in June 2017. Electricity generated to be sold to Duke Energy Progress under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The projected annual sales of the $14 million facility are 9,000,000 kWh.
