20-MW Portal Ridge Solar B project in California due for Q4 2016 startup

Portal Ridge Solar B LLC filed on May 20 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of self-certification of Exempt Wholesale Generator status based on its development, ownership, and expected operation of an approximately 20 MW (nameplate) solar facility located in Lancaster, Los Angeles County, California.

Applicant also owns certain facilities necessary to interconnect the solar project to the Del Sur Substation, which is owned and operated by Southern California Edison (SCE). This is within the California Independent System Operator balancing authority area.

The output of the facility is fully committed under a 20-year Renewable Power Purchase and Sale Agreement with SCE expiring in 2036. Applicant expects to place the facility into commercial operation during the fourth quarter of 2016.
