FLS Energy affiliate seeks North Carolina okay for 5-MW solar project

Ransom Solar LLC, an affiliate of FLS Energy Inc., applied April 19 to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity authorizing construction of a 4.999-MW (ac) solar facility in Currituck County.

The E911 street address is pending Sampson County Planning and Zoning approval, however the site is located off of Ransom Road in Sampson County, the filing noted. The project would interconnect with Duke Energy Progress.

The projected date for the facility to come on line is June 19, 2017. All electricity is to be sold to Duke Energy. The projected annual sales in kilowatt-hours is 9,800,000 AC kWh
