FERC accepts termination by PJM of interconnect for W.Va. wind project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on April 8 accepted a March 11 notice from PJM Interconnection of the cancellation of a an executed Interconnection Service Agreement (ISA) with the Beech Ridge Energy II LLC affiliate of Invenergy LLC and interconnecting transmission owner Monongahela Power.

The ISA had been approved by FERC in July 2015. But now, said PJM: “The Beech Ridge II ISA is being cancelled because Beech Ridge II has decided not to move forward with its interconnection project and will not participate in PJM’s markets.’

The ISA was for a next phase of the Beech Ridge Wind Farm in Greenbrier and Nicholas counties, West Virginia. This phase was due for 53.5 MW of Maximum Facility Output, made up of 36 1.5-MW General Electric turbines.
