Exelon affiliate shuts landfill gas power plant in Virginia

Fauquier Landfill Gas LLC and Potomac Power Resources LLC jointly on April 20 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission a notice of cancellation of their market-based rate tariffs.

Fauquier Landfill Gas owned an approximately 2-MW landfill gas-fired facility located at the Fauquier County Landfill in Fauquier County, Virginia. The facility was interconnected with the transmission system of Virginia Electric and Power. However, the Fauquier Landfill facility was retired effective Jan. 31, 2016, and Fauquier Landfill has no customers.

Potomac Power Resources formerly owned four generating units in the PJM Interconnection balancing authority area but all four were retired in May and June of 2012. It also has no customers.
