Arizona regulators to hold meeting on DG interconnection measures

The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) will hold a special open meeting on April 13 on its proposed rulemaking regarding interconnection of distributed generation (DG) facilities, the ACC said April 11.

No votes on substantive matters will be taken at the meeting, the ACC said.

The ACC has held workshops and other outreach efforts to gather input on the proposed rulemaking for DG facilities.

The April 11 notice included the agenda and speakers for the meeting. Besides ACC staff, the list of speakers and panelists includes representatives from Western Resource Advocates, South West Energy Efficiency Program and utility Arizona Public Service (APS).

APS is a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corp. (NYSE:PNW).

On March 1, APS filed its integrated resource plan with the ACC, including a discussion of generation changes, an examination of new technologies such as battery and other storage options and the utility’s plan to join the western energy imbalance market in October.
