Exelon returns LaSalle 1 nuclear unit to service in Illinois

Exelon (NYSE:EXC) has completed a refueling and maintenance outage at the LaSalle 1 nuclear unit in Illinois and returned the reactor to service.

The unit was listed at 28% power generation early March 17 after being listed at zero power two days earlier, according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) data.

Exelon had started the planned outage at the 1,100-MW boiling water reactor (BWR) in Marseilles, Illinois around Feb. 5. Exelon also used a virtual reality camera to assist with plant upkeep during the outage.
