North Carolina commission okays 19.8-MW Shine Solar I project

The North Carolina Utilities Commission on Jan. 26 approved an October 2015 application from Shine Solar I LLC for a certificate of public convenience and necessity on a 19.8-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility to be located at 850 Hackett Street in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina.

The applicant plans to sell the electricity generated by this facility to Duke Energy Carolinas. The application put the projected commercial operation date for this $50 million project as July 1, 2016.
