FLS Energy acquires 5-MW solar project in North Carolina

FLS Energy on Jan. 7 filed a notice with the North Carolina Utilities Commission that on Dec. 31, 2015, it acquired the membership interests of Innovative Solar 65 LLC.

The commission in May 2015 had approved a July 2014 application from Innovative Solar 65 for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for construction of a 4.995-MW (ac) solar photovoltaic facility to be located at 13005 X-Way Road, Laurinburg, Scotland County, North Carolina. The applicant plans to sell the electricity generated by this facility to Duke Energy Progress.

Innovative Solar 65 is among many project companies that North Carolina-based Innovative Solar Systems LLC has created in the past couple of years to get similar certificates for solar projects.

The contact information for the new project owner is: FLS Energy Inc., 130 Roberts Street, Asheville, N.C. 28801, Attention: Patty Mandaro, (828) 350-3993 Phone, (866) 726-4406 Fax, legal@flsenergy.com.
