Carolina Solar seeks okay for 5-MW McGrigor Farm project in North Carolina

Carolina Solar Energy II LLC filed a Jan. 25 application on behalf of its McGrigor Farm Solar LLC affiliate with the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on a 5-MW (ac) project located on approximately 35 acres of land at 1001 N US Highway 421 in the town of Clinton in Sampson County, N.C.

The $8 million project would consist of 22,230 Canadian Solar 315 W (dc) PV panels. It is due for commercial operation by Dec. 31, 2017, and would sell power under a 15-year contract to Duke Energy Progress.
