LCRA files interconnect deal for 102-MW SunPower project in Texas

LCRA Transmission Services Corp. on Dec. 8 filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas a Standard Generation Interconnection Agreement with Core Solar SPV V LLC for a 102-MW (ac) project.

The Point of Interconnection for this project will be at the new LCRA Sonne Substation located in Upton County, Texas, along the existing 138-kV transmission line T554.

This is to be a solar generation facility with one Point of Interconnection to the grid. The nominal plant rating will be approximately 102 MW of AC power (with a maximum rating of 112 MW) at the Point of Interconnection. It wll be made up of 51 photovoltaic inverters rated at 2 MW each.

The project’s scheduled commercial operation date is Dec. 31, 2016.
