Rain, mountain snow continue across Pacific Northwest, Sierra, Nevada

Heavy rain and mountain snow will continue across the Pacific Northwest as a strong storm system off the Gulf of Alaska brings abundant moisture onshore, according to the National Weather Service.

Rainfall amounts will vary, but 2 to 6 inches will be common across the region, with higher amounts in the mountains, where heavy snowfall is also possible. One foot of snow may fall over the highest passes of the Sierra.
