FERC accepts interconnect for NextEra’s Live Oak Solar project in Georgia

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Nov. 16 accepted a Sept. 22 filing by Southern Company Services of an executed Large Generator Interconnection Agreement dated Sept. 11 with Live Oak Solar LLC for a 51-MW solar project in Georgia.

In April 2014, Live Oak Solar submitted an interconnection request to Southern to interconnect a solar photovoltaic (PV), inverter-based generator array that would interconnect into the Georgia Power system. Georgia Power and Southern Company Services are both subsidiaries of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO).

This solar facility is to be located in Candler County, Georgia. The commercial operation target date is Nov. 30, 2016.
