California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Regulatory Analyst Stephen St Marie will discuss some of the issues affecting the electric power industry in California during PennWell’s Dec. 7 GenForum in Las Vegas.
St. Marie is an economist and policy advisor who has served government and corporate officials and executives throughout most of his career. Currently, he serves as a regulatory analyst in CPUC’s Policy and Planning Division. He has been with the CPUC for 12 years, during which time he has been an advisor to two commissioners.
St Marie originally served in the CPUC’s Energy Division. Previously, St Marie had a career as a consulting economist.
St Marie is a member of the Board of Directors of the Power Association of Northern California (PANC), a non-profit trade organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of the power industry in California.
St Marie received a BA (magna cum laude) in economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He later studied at the George Washington University in Washington D.C., where he was awarded a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics.
GenForum is a one-day conference, organized by GenerationHub, which will explore how the power sector is coping with changing dynamics such as renewable energy standards and the EPA Clean Power Plan. GenForum is one of the co-located events for PennWell’s POWER-GEN International. Both events are being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
