Bjorklund to join baseload power discussion at Dec. 7 GenForum in Las Vegas

Ingrid Bjorklund, the principal attorney of Bjorklund Law in Minnesota, will participate in a discussion of baseload power issues at PennWell’s Dec. 7 GenForum in Las Vegas.

Bjorklund will take part in a panel discussion titled “Tried and True.” The panel will consider what becomes of traditional baseload power, like coal and nuclear generation, in a brave new world dominated by gas and renewable energy.

The other confirmed speaker on the panel is Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU) Vice President/Global Energy Analytics Jacob Williams.

Bjorklund is an energy attorney and advocate with extensive regulatory, legislative, and transactional experience gained in private practice, government, and in-house. She is also an adjunct professor of energy law for William Mitchell College of Law. Bjorklund has represented utilities, renewable energy developers, and biofuel companies in addition to other business interests and nonprofits.

Her professional experience includes serving as an enforcement attorney with the Midwest Reliability Organization, an energy rates analyst with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and as state permit manager for energy facilities with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Bjorklund also served as vice president of government affairs and associate general counsel for Outland Renewable Energy.

Bjorklund earned her J.D. in 2005 from William Mitchell College of Law and served on the William Mitchell Law Review. She also holds an M.A. in Environmental Resource Policy from The George Washington University and a B.A. in International Relations from St. Catherine University.

Bjorklund is also co-author of an upcoming report on market and tariff challenges to grid-level energy storage.

GenForum is a one-day conference, organized by GenerationHub, which will explore how the power sector is coping with changing dynamics such as renewable energy standards and the EPA Clean Power Plan. GenForum is one of the co-located events for PennWell’s POWER-GEN International. Both events are being held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
