Colbeck’s Corner LLC, developer of the Grandview II wind farm, on Oct. 14 filed with the Public Utility Commission of Texas a registration as a power generator.
Attached to that filing was a Sept. 17 notice that the company had lodged with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission of its self-certification as an exempt wholesale generator. Colbeck’s Corner was formed under the laws of the State of Delaware (f/k/a and now d/b/a Grandview Wind Farm II LLC). Colbeck’s Corner is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of E.ON Climate Renewables North America LLC.
Colbeck’s Corner is constructing and will own and operate an approximate 200.48-MW wind facility and certain related generation interconnection facilities located in Carson and Gray counties, Texas. This facility is expected to commence commercial operations by the end of July 2016.
The facility will be interconnected with the transmission system owned by Sharyland Utilities LP located within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas region. Colbeck’s Corner will sell electric energy and capacity produced from the facility exclusively at wholesale.
Colbeck’s Corner has entered into a co-tenancy agreement with Grandview Wind Farm LLC, EC&R Development LLC (called the “Phase III Generator”) and EC&R O&M LLC (called the “Co-Tenancy Manager”). These companies are also subsidiaries of ECRNA. Grandview Wind Farm has an approximate 211.22 MW wind farm located in Carson County that is connected to Sharyland’s grid. Phase III Generator is projected to be a 187.5 MW wind farm located in Carson and Gray counties. Phase III Generator is anticipated to achieve commercial operation in 2016.
Grandview Wind Farm, the owner of the existing wind facility, on Sept. 17 had filed a separate notice with FERC of a non-material change in status related to the signing of the co-tenancy deal for these next two wind projects.
