AWS Truepower names Ziesler to Vice President position

ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — AWS Truepower, LLC an international leader in wind and solar energy consulting and engineering services today announced that Dr. Chris Ziesler will assume the role of Vice President of Consulting Services.

Ziesler recently joined AWS Truepower’s Due Diligence team, and comes to the company with over twenty years of industry experience developing and operating wind farms for well-known developers and operators, Powergen Renewables, Shell Energy, and Wind Capital Group. Ziesler will provide strategic direction to the company’s wind and solar energy consultancy, including services to support energy, development, and performance services.

“We are extremely pleased to have Chris take on this position,” remarked Michael Brower, President and Chief Technical Officer. “His knowledge and experience as a developer and operator will be a huge asset to our consulting business. Also, as a former client of AWS Truepower, we hope to gain valuable insight from Chris on how to improve our services and grow our business.”

Ziesler came to AWS Truepower after working as Senior Vice President at Wind Capital Group, a wind developer and operator that sold off all assets in early 2015. While at Wind Capital, Ziesler oversaw commercial operations of utility-scale wind farms, Lost Creek and Post Rock. Prior to this he ran their meteorological and wind analysis group. Ziesler also worked as Wind Resource Manager for Shell Energy in Amsterdam and Houston. During his six year tenure he managed all aspects of their wind resource program and was responsible for financeable energy reports for 1,400 MW of onshore and offshore projects in Europe and North America. While at both firms, Ziesler utilized the consulting services of AWS Truepower.

“I’m very excited to be offered the opportunity to lead the Consulting Services team at this important juncture in the company’s development,” commented Ziesler. “Consulting Services has historically been the bedrock of the company, but with AWS Truepower widening its portfolio of services and products I’m looking forward to leading the team during this new growth era.”

Ziesler was program co-chair of the AWEA Resource Assessment Workshops in Seattle 2011 and Pittsburgh 2012, and chaired the Finance Session at the 2013 workshop in Las Vegas. He holds an MA in Physics from Oxford University and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Aston University. Ziesler will be based in Chicago, Illinois, but will oversee the strategic direction of the company’s entire technical consulting group, which is largely based at company headquarters in Albany, New York, as well as in Barcelona, Spain, and Bangalore, India.
