Southern works out interconnect for NextEra’s 51-MW Live Oak Solar project

Southern Company Services on Sept. 22 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an executed Large Generator Interconnection Agreement dated Sept. 11 with Live Oak Solar LLC for a 51-MW solar project in Georgia.

In April 2014, Live Oak Solar submitted an interconnection request to Southern to interconnect a solar photovoltaic (PV), inverter-based generator array that would interconnect into the Georgia Power system. Georgia Power and Southern Company Services are both subsidiaries of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO).

This solar facility is to be located in Candler County, Georgia. The commercial operation target date is Nov. 30, 2016.
