PJM Interconnection on Sept. 18 filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission an executed interconnection construction service agreement (ICSA) with Gateway Energy Center LLC and interconnecting transmission owner Jersey Central Power & Light.
The Gateway Energy ICSA facilitates the construction of facilities necessary for the interconnection to the PJM system of the Gateway Energy Center Facility. As noted in PJM’s August 31, 2015, filing letter, Gateway Energy submitted this Interconnection Request to increase the maximum facility output to 460 MW by adding a 20-MW battery array at its gas-fired facility.
The Interconnection Service Agreement associated with the Gateway Energy Center project was filed with the Commission on Aug. 31 and is awaiting a commission order. The ISA says the Gateway Energy Center is located on Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, New Jersey. With this additional capacity, Gateway must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units by May 16, 2019.
