PJM works out interconnects with IMG Development for two 20-MW projects

PJM Interconnection filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on June 17 executed Wholesale Market Participation Agreements with project developer IMG Development LLC and transmission owner West Penn Power.

One agreement covers the Ten Mile Generation Facility, located at 10 Mile and Moscow roads in Amwell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. The maximum facility output is 19.9 MW. It will consist of five 4-MW natural gas-fired reciprocating engine generator sets connected to a common bus. The project has PJM queue position #Z2-105. Under this agreement, on or before July 1, 2016, IMG Development must demonstrate commercial operation of all generating units.

PJM on June 17 also filed with FERC a WMPA with IMG Development and West Penn Power for the Amity Generation Facility, to be located at 496 Mankey Road, Amwell Township, Washington County, Pa. This project also has a maximum facility output of 19.9 MW and would consist of five 4-MW natural gas-fired reciprocating engine generator sets connected to a common bus. This project is under PJM queue position #Z2-106. On or before July 1, 2016, IMG must demonstrate commercial operation of all of these generating units, as well.

Project contact information is: IMG Development LLC c/o Tangibl LLC, Suite 1604, Oxford Valley Road, Yardley, PA 19067-7706. Attn: Ken Foladare.

Said the Tangibl website: “In the course of preparing rate cases for small gas utilities in the Marcellus Shale region, Tangibl identified the need for alternative markets for natural gas. Given the absence of adequate midstream infrastructure, Tangibl developed the business case for an array of small, gas-fired generators accessing the PJM Interconnection energy and capacity markets. Bregal Energy, one of the world’s leading private investors in energy and enabling technologies, is the financial partner in IMG Midstream. Tangibl is IMG’s Development Partner, and supports development, engineering, construction, start-up and operation.”
