The Québec government today announced the nomination of Éric Martel as Hydro-Québec’s President and Chief Executive Officer. This appointment was recommended by the company’s Board of Directors following a rigorous selection process. Mr. Martel will take office on July 6, 2015.

Hydro-Québec generates, transmits and distributes electricity. Its sole shareholder is the Québec government. It uses mainly renewable generating options, in particular large hydro, and supports the development of other technologies—such as wind energy and biomass.
