The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a risk of severe thunderstorms Monday for a large area stretching from Texas to the Great Lakes.
Hail and locally damaging winds will be the primary concerns. In addition, some of the storms could produce heavy rain in Texas that could lead to flash flooding.
The weather will be warm for the East Coast and cool for the central U.S.
Tropical depression Ana continues to weaken. However, it will still bring rain to eastern North Carolina and the Delmarva Peninsula before dissipating. The heaviest rainfall is likely for the Outer Banks.
