Pioneer Green Energy pursues interconnect for 20-MW solar project in Ohio

PJM Interconnection issued an April 2015 Combined Feasibility/Impact Study report on an assessment that has been performed by Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky (DEOK) in response to a request made by Pioneer Green Energy LLC to interconnect a 20-MW solar generator to the DEOK system.

The requested commercial operation date for this project is Oct. 1, 2016. The project, under queue #AA1-126, was studied as a 20-MW inverter-based generator connected to the Hillcrest 138-kV substation in the DEOK area. The project was evaluated for compliance with reliability criteria for summer peak conditions in 2018.

This project, to be located in Ohio, entered the PJM queue in October 2014. This study is a mid-point in the PJM queue process, which culminates with the signing of an Interconnection Service Agreement.
