Critical fire weather conditions for portions of the Northern Plains and Great Lakes

The NWS Storm Prediction Center expects critical fire weather conditions to persist on Monday for portions of the western Great Lakes and Northern Plains, according to the National Weather Service.

This critical fire weather threat is due to a combination of above normal temperatures, gusty west-northwest winds, and low relative humidity. Any fires that start in these areas will quickly spread and become hard to control.
