Limerick Unit 1 operating at full power

Operators at Limerick Generating Station returned Unit 1 to full power Feb. 27 after repairing a valve on one of the unit’s main steam lines.

On Feb. 23, Unit 1 automatically shut down after the valve closed. The brief outage did not impact electrical service to regional customers.

Limerick Generating Station is located approximately 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The plant produces enough carbon-free electricity to power approximately two million homes.
