FERC accepts interconnect construction deals for two N.C. solar projects

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 4 accepted the filing by PJM Interconnection of two executed Interconnection Construction Service Agreements (CSAs) with Colonial Eagle Solar LLC and transmission owner Virginia Electric and Power.

One CSA is associated with PJM Queue No. Z2-043, and the other is associated with PJM Queue No. Z2-044.

  • The Queue No. Z2-043 CSA facilitates the interconnection of the 20-MW Kelford Solar Park, located at North Carolina Highway 308 and Cherry Farm Road in Kelford, North Carolina. Under this deal, by Oct. 15, 2015, the utility must complete its interconnection facilities.
  • The Queue No. Z2-044 CSA facilitates the interconnection of the 12-MW Whitakers Solar Park, located at Watson Seed Farm Road in Whitakers, North Carolina. Virginia Electric in this case also needs to complete its interconnect upgrades by Oct. 15, 2015.

PJM in December 2014 had filed with FERC two executed Interim Interconnection Service Agreements for these same two solar projects.
