Exempt wholesale notices filed for two Nebraska wind facilities

Two affiliated companies with Nebraska wind projects, Prairie Breeze Wind Energy LLC and Prairie Breeze Wind Energy II LLC, filed exempt wholesale generator notices on Feb. 18 at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Both are indirect subsidiaries of Invenergy Investment Co. LLC.

Prairie Breeze said it is already an EWG under a 2009 filing, but is filing this new exempt generator notice related to the interconnection facilities it will share with Prairie Breeze II. The company owns and operates a 200.6-MW wind project located near Petersburg, Neb.

Prairie Breeze II plans a 73.4-MW project near Petersburg, Neb. Test operations are due to start in the “future,” said the company, without being specific. The project will interconnect, like the existing Prairie Breeze operation, with the Nebraska Public Power District.
