Dangerous wind chills continue across much of Northeast, central Appalachians

Strong winds and dangerous wind chills will continue through much of Friday across the Northeast states and into the central Appalachians, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Expect sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts near 35 to 45 mph in several locations. Wind chill temperatures could be as low as minus 35 degrees in places. Frostbite can occur in less than 15 minutes on exposed skin under these extreme conditions.
