Wharton County Generation nears permit for simple-cycle turbine

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said in a Jan. 29 notice that it plans to approve an air permit for a new simple cycle turbine installation by a GDF Suez Energy North America affiliate.

Wharton County Generation, LLC, PO Box 600, Boling, Texas 77420-0600, has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for issuance of Proposed Air Quality Permit Number 118549, which would authorize construction of a Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine Unit located on FM 1301 approximately 3.8 miles east of the intersection of FM 1301 and FM 422 and approximately 0.5 miles north of the town of Newgulf, Boling, Wharton County, Texas 77420. This application was submitted to the TCEQ on March 28, 2014.”
